Helen Korn, age 80, of Monroe, died on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Friedensheim assisted living. She was born on October 9, 1932, the daughter of Edwin and Matilda (Bowman) Colden. Helen and William Korn were married on December 28, 1958. She and William farmed on his family farm the greater part of their lives. Helen also volunteered at Pleasant View Nursing Home and the New Glarus Home, arranging many nursing home events. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a member of the Mary Circle and the Churches Women's Guild. Helen was a member of the Pythian Sisters and a 50 year member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #599.

Helen is survived by several nieces and nephews, also several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brothers, Julian, Erline, Russell and Ralph Colden.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Church Cemetery, in rural Monticello. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with a Women of the Moose service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Helen's memory.
