Helen J. Mayne, age 100, of Monroe, formerly of Browntown, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on August 28, 1915 in Oneco, Illinois, the daughter of Homer and Matilda (Walter) Miller. Helen married Robert Dale on Sept. 11, 1933 in Rockford, IL; she later married Nicholas Mayne on Oct. 6, 1946 in Darlington. Helen was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, becoming postmaster in 1955 in Browntown, she retired in 1974.

Helen was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Retired Postmasters, Browntown Fireman's Auxiliary, creator of the Browntown Museum; she enjoyed flowers, liked to travel, traveling to all 50 states and Mexico and the Caribbean.

She is survived by step-daughter, Bernadine Ubersox of Shullsburg, son, Grant (Cheryl) Dale of Monroe, daughters, Deanna (Alvin) Sacker of Monroe, and Tammie (Greg) DeRemer of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Paul Miller, of Brodhead; sisters, Jean Nybroten, of Monroe, Darlyne (Ken) Klossner of Brodhead.

She is predeceased by her Parents; Husbands, son, Nathan, step-daughter, Ailene Malott, grandson, Curtis Dale, great-grandson, David Pick; 7 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, with Pastor Wayne Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Saucerman Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.

A memorial fund is being established in Helen's memory.
