Harold A."Bud" Pilz Jr. age 84 of Monroe, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at Monroe Health Services. He was born on June 10, 1933 in Monroe, the son of Harold "Pop" and Bernadine (Simmons) Pilz. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1951 and from Carroll College in 1955. He served in the Army from August of 1956 to August of 1958. Bud married Nancy Fritz on October 12, 1963 in Monroe. He worked at the Swiss Colony for 35 years. He served on the Monroe School Board as well on the board of directors of the Monroe Country Club. Bud was an avid golfer and was a die-hard sports fan, who rooted for all of the Badger sports teams, the Chicago Bears, and his beloved Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Pilz of Aurora, IL; cherished grandson, Jeremy Pilz of Lombard, IL; sister, Nancy Gallun of Stoughton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Nancy;
A Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, at a later date. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Bud's name to Friends of the Behring Center, Monroe United Methodist Church or Monroe Clinic Hospice.
