DARLINGTON - Gordon A. Smith, age 80 of Darlington, WI, died on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born on August 2, 1929 in Rockford, IL to George and Mattie (Noble) Smith. He graduated from Darlington High School. Gordon was married to Kathleen Lange on February 12, 1958. Together, they raised their four children. Kathleen preceded him in death on September 9, 1991. On June 4, 1999, Gordon married Gloria Sieling at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. He was a dairy farmer and later held various other jobs including Colombian Feed Co., Tracy's Seed Co., ITW Shakeproof, and Lands' End. He was a former member of the National Farmers' Organization. Gordie was devoted to his family and also enjoyed traveling and taking his Sunday drives. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and was a 3rd Degree Knight with Msgr Doyle Knights of Columbus Council #1080.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; his son, Gary Smith of Darlington; his daughters: Sharon (George) Moss of Tokoroa, New Zealand, Laurie Makos of Dodgeville, Linda Smith of Johnson Creek; a daughter-in-law, Sue Smith of Monroe; 13 grandchildren: Kathy (Tim) Swigart, Joe & Sarah Smith, Daniel Moss, Matt & Christi Makos, Alex & Ashley Gee, Jessie Smith, Kelsey Ramos, Kristin Fahrney, Kari Fahrney, and Heather Disrud; 6 great-grandchildren: Jarren & Reagan Swigart, Tyler Kelffig, Lexis Balboa, Braelyn Fahrney, and Isaiah Carter; his nieces and nephews: Gail (Jerry) Setterquist, Gwen Malueg, Gene (Connie) Malueg, and Gary (Norma) Malueg; other relatives, and friends.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathleen; a grandson, Michael, in 2004; and a sister, Ilien Malueg in 2009.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI, where a Parish and Knights of Columbus rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington
