Fred L. Rowe, Sr., 76, of Monroe, Wisconsin formerly of DeKalb, Ill. passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 17, 1932 in DeKalb, Ill., the son of Leonard and Blanche (Perry) Rowe. Fred married Betty L. Kittleson on May 16, 1953 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Fred was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He spent the past 35 years farming in Monroe, Wisconsin, 25 of those years he was a dairy farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; five sons, Fred, Jr. (Stephanie) of DeKalb, Ill., Leonard of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lee (Debbie) of Argyle, Wisconsin, Clyde of Rockford, Ill., Dale of Milton, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Myers of DeKalb, Ill. Mary Wahl of Creston, Ill., Eileen (Bob) Biehl of Aurora, Ill. and Pat (Jason Haze) Garbian of Las Vegas, Nevada; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Leonard, Richard and Clyde; one granddaughter, Ashlee; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with Rev. Ronald Miles officiating. Burial will follow services at the Malta Cemetery in Malta, Ill. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
