Fred H. Larosh, age 76 of Monticello, died Sunday, July 19, 2019 at his home following a long illness. Fred was born May 19, 1939 in Pekin, IL, the son of Rollo and Estella LaRosh. He graduated from Pekin Community High School and attended the University of Illinois. Fred and Ellen E. Wineburner were married on October 18, 1958 in Pekin. Fred farmed in Washington Township for 20 years and also had a hay trucking business. He later was employed as a crop adjuster and manager for Old Republic, worked in sales for Monroe Truck Equipment, and for ten years as a crop adjuster for Rural Community Insurance Services. Fred and Ellen were one of the founding families of the Monroe Bible Church where he was a former Deacon and Elder Board member. He was also a member of the Monroe Barbershop Quartet and enjoyed golfing, hunting, softball, and horseshoes. His main hobby was fishing and enjoyed many trips to Wisconsin and Canadian waters.
He is survived by his children, Larry (Jenny) LaRosh of Monroe, Nancy Reneau of Monticello, and Terry LaRosh of Reedsburg; four grandchildren, Jason (Laura) LaRosh, Derek LaRosh, Erika Nelson, and Kristin (Paul) Reneau James; and seven greatgrandchildren, Lilly Norton, Aleena, Sienna, and Wyatt LaRosh, and Noah, Levi, and Gracie James. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen, on October 8, 2014; and son-in-law, Mark Reneau on December 6, 2014.
A celebration of Fred's life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at the Monroe Bible Church with Pastors Dan Krahenbuhl and Ralph Bauer officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Fred's name. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
