Monroe Police

MONROE - Minor injuries were reported at 5:29 a.m. Friday when officers responded to the intersection of West 8th Street and 6th Avenue West for a one-vehicle accident. Reports indicated that Shawn C. Schneider, 35, Monroe, attempted to merge onto 6th Avenue West, from West 8th Street, and lost control of his motor vehicle. As a result, the vehicle tipped, over causing severe damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Schneider was cited for failing to maintain control of his vehicle.



NEW GLARUS Police

NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported at 1:05 p.m. Saturday when police responded to a reported two-vehicle crash in the 300 block of 14th Avenue. An investigation revealed that a 2006 Pontiac Vibe driven by a Sawyer R. Myers, 16, Evansville, lost control of vehicle and hit a legally parked 1998 Chevrolet truck belonging to Bryan Buesser, New Glarus. Myers' vehicle received severe damage and Buesser's vehicle received moderate damage. Myers was cited for inattentive driving.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported at 8:58 p.m. Sunday following a deer vs. car accident in the N4600 block of County E in the Town of Decatur. Sebastian A. Adams, 17, Brodhead, was southbound on County E when he hit a deer. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 8:52 p.m. Friday on County U in White Oak Springs Township. William P. Moore, 26, Shullsburg, was northbound on County U when he left the roadway and hit a ditch. A passenger, Bandon L. Brudick, 19, Platteville, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Moore was arrested for operating while intoxicated and was transported to the Lafayette County Jail. He was later released. Moore's 2012 Subaru received minor damage and was towed from the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol, Grant County Sheriff's Department, Shullsburg Police Department, Shullsburg Ambulance, and Shullsburg Fire Department assisted at the scene.

On Saturday:

• Deputies responded to a one-vehicle hit-and-run accident a 3:14 a.m. on County I, in the Town of New Diggings. Douglas W. Champion, 21, Hazel Green, was turning southbound onto County I when he failed to negotiate the turn, and hit a building and a retaining wall. Champion's 2001 Chrysler Van received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Champion was cited for driving while revoked, failing to notify police of an accident, hit-and-run of property adjacent to highway, failing to keep vehicle under control, and driving a vehicle without insurance.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 5:35 p.m. on County Y, in Wiota Township. Marina Gurns, 53, Monroe, failed to maintain control while she was driving through Blackhawk Memorial Park; she hit a tree. Gurns' 1997 Chevrolet Blazer received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• Kip A. Malott, 51, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 6:55 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township.

On Sunday:

• Marilyn L. Staub, 78, Dickeyville, reported hitting a deer at 11:30 a.m. on County W in New Diggings Township.
