Eveline Grace Phillips, age 94 of Monroe, died Saturday March 17, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 9, 1923 to James and Grace Meekma in rural Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Her parents were born in the Netherlands. Eveline married Ralin Lyle Phillips on January 8, 1947 in Madison, WI. She lived in Wisconsin all her life. She was educated in grade schools in Reeseville, Fall River and Columbus; high schools in Fall River and Pardeeville. She also attended Madison Business College and MATC. She worked in the accounting field at Endres and Tiedeman, Northwestern Mutual Life and Dane County Social Services where she retired from at the end of 1977. Since her husband's death in 1985 she has lived in Monroe where her children settled. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe, ELCW and Ruth Circle.

She is survived by her daughters: Tereesa Lynn (John) Schroeder and Penny Kathryn (James) Jahnke; granddaughters: Jonna (Scott) Buse and Kate (Brandan) Shelman; 5 great grandchildren: Holden Buse, Marshall Buse, Miles Buse, Kaiya Shelman, and Landry Shelman; brother, James Meekma; sisters: Catherine Atkinson and Jane (Lawrence) Michaelis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1985, brother Peter Meekma; sisters: Clarice Krueger and Amy Bornick.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Madison, at a later time. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, Monroe and Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
