MADISON - Emmet D. "Mac" McKenna, age 74, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2013. He was born on May 10, 1938, in Darlington, the son of Emmet P. and Dorothy (Gille) McKenna. Emmet graduated from Monroe High School in 1957. He was employed as a journeyman plumber for many years until his retirement in 2003. Emmet was an avid Badger and Packers fan and also especially enjoyed "Court TV". He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and trapshooting as a member of the North Bristol Gun Club. Emmet was also a member of the volunteer Browntown Fire Department.
Emmet is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Mike (Jolene) McKenna; daughter, Kathy (Jim) Becker; five grandchildren, Hilary, Matt, Nicole, Brianna, and Brittney; five great-grandchildren, Adeline, Jack, Caleb, Nolan, and Kaiden; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Don and Dale "Shorty".
Funeral services for Emmet will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of UW Hospital, Oak Park Place, and St. Jude's Hospice for their wonderful care.
