Emma M. Quinn Zweifel, age 100, of Monroe, formerly of South Wayne passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on August 29, 1917 in Argyle, the daughter of Rudy and Leona (Moret) Kippel. She attended Pleasant Ridge School.
She farmed with her husband Kenneth on the family farm in the Gratiot area.
Emma and Kenneth Quinn were united in marriage on January 3, 1938; she later married Gilbert Zweifel in 1980 and later married Frank Ernst in 1992.
Emma was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne; she also was very active in the Church Circle.
Emma loved to play cards, dance, flower and vegetable gardening and spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Ernst, Emma's children: JoAnn (Lavern) Flannery of Argyle; Marian (Matt) Olin of Janesville; Nancy Gertsch of Janesville; Charles (Kelli) Quinn of Gratiot; daughters-in-law, Mary (Ron) Berget and Gloria Quinn both of South Wayne; 22 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; step-children: David Ernst, Edwin (Diane) Ernst, Terri (William) Nipple, Connie (James) Meier, Gwen (Jeff) Ernst-Ulrich, Susan (Joseph) Junk and 22 step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Kenneth in 1973; Gilbert in 1984; sons, Patrick in 2003 and Emmet in 2013; granddaughter, Jennifer Quinn; grandson, Joseph Quinn; sister, Josephine Mathys; brothers, Louis, Bennie and Paul Kippel; and son-in-law, David Gertsch in 2015.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne, with Fr. Frank Sudhaker celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery in Gratiot.
Visitation will be Monday, February 19th, from 9:30 until time of service at the church.
