Earl L. Ragagli age 95 of Monroe, formerly of Chicago died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Monroe Manor. Earl was born September 1, 1918 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Louise (Palmini) Ragagli. He married Marie Disciano on November 5, 1949 in Chicago. She preceded him in death on October 3, 1990. Earl worked as a self-employed insurance broker for more than 50 years before retiring. Following Marie's death, Earl married MaryAnn Melone in 1993 and moved to Monroe after MaryAnn passed away in 2001. Mr. Ragagli was an active member of the Monroe Senior Center where he enjoyed playing cards, pool, and helping in the kitchen. He also was a volunteer at Monroe Clinic Hospital and helped deliver Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by twin daughters, Francine (James) Rospenda of St. Peters, MO, and Louise Tindle of Monroe; three grandchildren, Dawn (Chris) Schneider of Fenton, MO, Karen (Neil) Hager of St. Peters, MO, and Caroline Tindle of Monroe; a great-granddaughter, Abby Schneider; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two wives; son-in-law, John Tindle; two brothers, Dino and Frank Ragagli; and a sister, Yolanda Marganti.

A visitation for Earl Ragagli will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 1329 31st. Ave., Monroe. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Hillside, Illinois. To sign the guestbook go to www.newcomerfuneralhome.net .
