Dorothy J. Jones, age 94, of Monroe, died on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on March 13, 1921, in Monroe, the daughter of James and Mary (Pfister) Davis.
Dorothy graduated from Monroe High School in 1939 and attended Madison Vocational College.
Dorothy and John E. Jones were married on October 11, 1941 in Monroe.
Dorothy was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, being active in the Monroe United Methodist Women and the Richland Homemakers.
She is survived by her children: James (Mary Kate) Jones of Spokane, WA; Steven (Mary Jane) Jones of Sparta, Robert Jones of Brodhead; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, James Davis Jr.; step-daughter, Alice Davidson; sisters, Rosemary Galway and JoAnne Hemlock.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Monroe United Methodist Church in Dorothy's name. Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
