Doris R. Seffrood
Doris R. Seffrood, age 79, of South Wayne, was welcomed into her Heavenly Father's arms on Friday, April 10, 2009. She was born on June 9, 1929 in Monroe, the daughter of Emanuel and Hulda (Morris) Pagel. Doris and Clynton L. Seffrood were married on February 15, 1948 at the Wiota Lutheran Parsonage. She farmed with her husband in the South Wayne area, also working 14 years at K-Mart. One of her greatest joys was her feature writing for the Monroe Evening Times for over 20 years. Mom also shared her writing talent with special poems for children and grandchildren to treasure for years. Doris was a member of the Wiota Lutheran Church, past president of the Wiota WELCA, the Ruth Circle, also teaching Sunday School for many years. Mom will be remembered by her family for her wonderful sense of humor and her love of God and family. She was a wonderful cook with the aroma of fresh buns and cinnamon rolls filling our hearts and home. Her hands rolled many lefse and created delicious Norwegian delicacies. Mom's creativity came out in many ways. She enjoyed cake decorating, flower arranging, gardening and sewing creations for her children. Her thoughtfulness for others was evident in the many cards and gifts she shared with those who needed love and kindness. Mom loved spending time with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
