Donald C. Drye, 78, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Don was born at his family's home on February 12, 1938 to Leonard and Viola (Bidlingmaier) Drye in Cadiz Township. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Blum on March 2, 1958 in Monroe.

Don was a 1956 graduate of Winslow High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed for 32 years at Micro Switch, retiring on January 1, 1997. Don had been a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, the Castle Rock Lions Club, where he served as the Treasurer for 14 years and received the Birch-Sturm Fellowship Award. He also was a member of the American Legion in Adams-Friendship.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Monroe; children, Dennis Drye of Monroe, Dena Drye of Athelstane, WI, Denise (Mark) Hanson of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dwight Drye of Marengo, IL, Duane Drye of Beloit, George Drye of Lena, IL, and Elywn (Terri) Drye of Rockford, IL; sisters, Joyce Mau and Gloria Quinn both of South Wayne, Alice (Donald) Olson of Argyle, and Rose (Tom) Durtschi of Albany. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth Ann Albrecht.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Kay Krebs officiating. Burial will follow service at the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00a.m. until the time of service.
