Dolores R. Jenny, 87, of Platteville, died on January 25, 2018 at Park Place, Platteville, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont, Wisconsin. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville, WI. Friends may call from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Dolores was born on March 6, 1930 at home in rural Blanchardville daughter of Tyler and Clara (Dammen) Gilbertson. She was united in marriage to Clarence J. Jenny on May 15, 1948 at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2017. Dolores worked at the Burgess Battery for many years and then for Red's Supper Club for 18 years, and then opened and operated Mound View Cheese Store for 8 years. Dolores was very proud that when she was 60 years old she completed her GED. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont, where she was a communion assistant and active in the church sewing group. Dolores loved music, especially playing the organ and accordion. She enjoyed family events, crocheting, quilting, baking, bowling and traveling.
Dolores is survived by three daughters, Vicki (John) Hirsch, Debbie (Mike) Moen, and Brenda (Jerry) Nicolin; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her first great-great-grandson due this April; two brothers, Henry Gilbertson and Orville Gilbertson; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Gilbertson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons, Dennis, Calvin and Carey, brothers, Hartford, Marvin, Alve and Tilman Gilbertson and their spouses, sisters, Bonnie Johnson, Clarenda Berry, Janet Hardyman and Lela Jenny and their spouses, father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marie Jenny, sisters-in-law, Clare Dougherty and husband Francis, Gladys Miecher-Ballard and husbands, Clarence and Burt.
