MONROE - Diane E. Volden, age 75, of Monroe, WI, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014, at her home. She was born on January 2, 1939 in Cottage Grove, WI, the daughter of Donald and Clarice (Jensen) Duckert. She married Phillip L. Volden on July 1, 1954 in Cottage Grove, WI.

Diane spent her entire life putting others first. Her greatest joy was spending time with children through her work at The Rainbow Daycare Center and her time spent with her six children, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also was an avid sports fan, especially the Badgers and Packers. Diane enjoyed needlepoint and her flower garden.

She is survived by her husband, Phil, Monroe, WI; two sons, Duain (Loralee) Volden, Brodhead, WI, Phillip (Tina) Volden, Monroe, WI; two daughters, Beth (Jeff) Novinska, Boscobel, WI, Michelle (Ron) Howe, Portage, WI; a sister, Gail (Jim) Stobart, Machesney Park, IL; a special aunt, Ruby Krogan, Waukesha, WI; a son-in-law, Steve Gray, Monroe, WI; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two daughters, Barb Gray and Denise Volden.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Peder Johanson officiating.
