Dennis Oren Cook, 67, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 17, 1949 to Lorance and Lavora "Peggy" (Rice) Cook in Platteville.

Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Medic from 1969-1971. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran, having received numerous medals of Honor including a Purple Heart. He worked at Roth Kase cheese factory for over 20 years, until his retirement. Dennis was an avid fisherman and loved being out on his boat.

Dennis is survived by his two sons, Lance (Cari) Cook and Christopher (Danielle Bauer) Sibley; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Conner, and Caleb Cook, Raelianna Sibley and Jordyn Arn; siblings, Carol (Ron) Lumis, Don (Karen) Cook, Keith (Bernadine) Cook, Marilyn Hoffman, Steven (Susan) Cook, Cheryl (Russ) Warner, Cathy (Jeff) Gilbertson, Connie (Mike) Pederson, and Mike Cook; as well as sister-in-law, Edie Cook; his care giver, Debbie Riley and his beloved dog, Jax.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Lorance Cook, Jr., Secil "Toby" Cook, Myla Dalen, and Lyle Cook.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME. Military Honors will be held at the funeral home.
