Delores E. Kurschner age 69 of Verona, WI, formerly of Blanchardville, WI, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Hospice Care, Inc. in Fitchburg, WI. She was born September 7, 1941 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Flannery) Wild. Delores grew up in Blanchardville, WI, until moving to Freeport, IL, in 1954. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1959 and later that year moved to Forreston, IL. Delores was united in marriage to the love of her life Frederick "Fred" Kurschner on December 15, 1973 at Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Following their marriage they moved to the Southern Wisconsin area and later to the Madison area where she has resided since.
Delores is survived by two children: Keith Daws of Oregon, WI, and Mary-Lyn (Keith) Austin of Brodhead, WI; four grandchildren: Jordan and Jared Daws, and Lindsey and Meghann Austin; one brother: Duane (Valerie) Wild of Jacksonville, FL; and one sister: Beverly (Ken) Lance of Bull Shoals, AK. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred on April 13, 2011; two sisters: Joyce Wild and one in infancy; and one brother, Ronnie Wild as a child.
Delores attended High Point Church in Madison where she and Fred served as ushers for a number of years. She loved spending time with her family and was an avid gardener and voracious reader. Delores enjoyed collecting pandas, blue glass ware, and wicker baskets.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Argyle Lutheran Church, 100 East Street in Argyle with Rev. Dietrich R. Gruen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 60 Breeze Terrace (GPS Users: 801 East Milwaukee Street) in Argyle and Monday, May 23, 2011, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
