David P. Leck

David P. Leck, age 70, of Juda, WI, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was born August 18, 1947, in Monroe, WI, the son of Paul and Faye (Schneider) Leck. Dave graduated from Monroe High School in 1965. He married Shirley A. Sweeney in Martintown, WI on March 18, 1967. He grew up in Monroe and managed the produce department in a number of grocery stores in the Monroe, Madison, and Janesville areas. Most recently he worked at Duluth Trading in Belleville, WI. Dave loved staying busy and sold cheese from Decatur Dairy out of Brodhead at farmers markets from Oregon, WI to Waukesha, WI.

Dave is survived by two daughters: Teresa (Aaron) Withee of Brodhead, WI, and Kori (Ron) Sagen of Orfordville, WI; and one son Michael (Kristine) Leck of Monroe, WI; three brothers: Larry (Celia) Leck and Ron Leck both of Monroe, Greg (Diane) Leck of Stoughton, WI; three sisters: Wanda Bechtolt of Monroe, Connie Solberger of Orangeville, IL, and Julie (Kevin) Buehl of Blanchardville, WI; eleven grandchildren: Brad, Katie, Casey, Emily, Hanna, Kelsey, Amanda, Chezney, Madalyn, Abbigail, and Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Bud Sweeney; three brothers-in-law: Paul Bechtolt, Fred Solberger, and Wayne Meighan.

Dave was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe and served on the Juda School Board for a couple of terms. Dave was also a member of the Brodhead Fire Department for three years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, taking care of his tropical fish, and collecting rocks from all over the world. He also served in the National Guard for six years. Dave's family will always remember him for the passion he had for everything he did, his infectious smile and endless kindness.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe (1025 15th Ave. Monroe, WI) with Rev. John J. Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle, WI. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church and from 10:00 until 10:45 AM at the church on Wednesday.
