Daniel D. "Danny" McGranahan, age 76 of Lancaster, WI formerly of Darlington, WI passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. He was born February 5, 1939 in Darlington the son of Dale and Mae (Helm) McGranahan. Danny graduated from Darlington High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Louise Marie Ward on February 5, 1963 in Seymour Township, WI. He lived in the Darlington area most of his life. Danny farmed and was a carpenter for many years. He later worked at Nelson Muffler in Mineral Point until his retirement in 1997.

Danny is survived by his two sons: David (Lorri) McGranahan of Shullsburg, WI and Mark (Lisa) McGranahan of Dubuque, IA; and his grandchildren: McKenzie, Cody, Michelle, and Megan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harley McGranahan.

Danny was very proud of his two sons and who they grew up to be. He enjoyed building model airplanes and furniture. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunting enthusiast. Danny was an excellent marksman and founding member of the Darlington Rifle Club. He looked forward to his daily walks on the Darlington trail and was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church. Danny will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff at Orchard Manor for their loving care and compassion that they gave to Danny during his time at the Manor.
