MONROE - The court scheduled a Sept. 2 district attorney conference and entered a plea of not guilty for a Monroe man who appeared in Green County Circuit Court Wednesday for sexual assault charges.

Brandon S. Richardson, 19, stood mute to charges of child enticement, a class D felony; intimidation of a victim, a class G felony; and sexual intercourse with a child, a class A misdemeanor. He faces more than 35 years in prison and up to $135,000 in fines, if convicted.

Court records allege he had sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old girl in the stairway of an apartment building July 28 in Monroe. He later threatened to hurt her if she told anyone.

He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.
