Felonies

• The court Wednesday entered plea of not guilty and scheduled a Feb. 18 status conference for Dustin D. Halvorson, 21, Brodhead, who stood mute to recklessly endangering safety and two counts of bail jumping.

Court records allege he drank alcohol and rammed a woman's vehicle with his truck Jan. 24 in Decatur township while on bond for intimidation of a victim, telephone harassment and disorderly conduct.

He is charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety, a class F felony, and two counts of bail jumping, both class A misdemeanors. He faces up to 14 years in prison and up to $45,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains jailed on a $2,500 signature bond.

• The court Thursday scheduled a Feb. 12 status conference for Coty D.D. Sweet, 20, Monroe, who is charged with strangulation and suffocation, and two counts of battery.

Court records allege he punched a woman in the face, the back of the head and the ribs Dec. 18 in Monroe. Court records also allege he pushed and choked a woman Jan. 4 in Monroe. He was convicted of battery in 2008 and 2009.

He is charged with strangulation and suffocation, a class H felony and two counts of battery, both class A misdemeanors, as a repeat offender.

He faces more than 12 years in prison and up to $30,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $1,000 cash bond.

In a second case, the court scheduled a Feb. 12 status conference after he pleaded not guilty Thursday to drug charges.

Court records allege he had about 12 grams of marijuana and a marijuana grinder in his vehicle Nov. 14 in Monroe.

He is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both unclassified misdemeanors. He faces up to seven months in jail and up to $1,500 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 cash bond.

• Jillian A. Gowen, 23, New Glarus, remains free on a $3,000 signature bond after making her initial appearance Monday for charges related to a break-in in New Glarus.

Court records allege she took a purse, two jackets and an iPod from a vehicle Dec. 3 in New Glarus; concealed the property and told police she didn't have the items; and tried to dissuade the victim from filing charges.

She is charged with attempting to intimidate a victim, a class G felony; threats to injure or accuse, a class H felony; four counts of obstructing an officer, each a class A misdemeanor; two counts of receiving stolen property, both class A misdemeanors; and theft, a class A misdemeanor.

She faces more than 25 years in prison and up to $105,000 in fines, if convicted.

Her preliminary hearing is Feb. 23.

• Timothy S. Walls, 28, Albany, remains free on a $2,500 signature bond after making his initial appearance Feb. 1 for burglary, theft and concealing stolen property.

Court records allege he entered a garage and took three chainsaws and hid one of them Dec. 6 in Monticello. He was convicted of possession of marijuana in 2008.

He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, and theft and receiving stolen property, both class A misdemeanors, as a repeat offender. He faces up to 14 years in prison and up to $45,000 in fines, if convicted.

His preliminary hearing is April 11.

• The court Monday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a March 16 district attorney conference for Jamie L. Grinder, 31, New Glarus, who stood mute to strangulation and suffocation, battery, resisting an officer and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege she grabbed a man by throat and pushed him down a flight of stairs Jan. 19 at a residence in Jordan township, and she struggled with officers when taken into custody.

She is charged with attempted strangulation and suffocation, a class H felony; battery and resisting an officer, both class A misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. She faces more than six years in prison and up to $26,000 in fines, if convicted.

She remains free on a $2,000 signature bond.

• The court Monday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a March 23 district attorney conference for Ellis E. Williams, 19, Dodgeville, who stood mute to drug charges.

Court records allege he had more than 37 grams of marijuana, plastic bags and a digital scale in his possession Jan. 22.

He is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class I felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than three years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $6,000 signature bond.

• The court Monday scheduled a March 23 district attorney conference for David Burgos, 19, Monroe, who pleaded not guilty to drug charges.

Court records indicate he had more than 37 grams of marijuana, plastic bags and a digital scale in his possession Jan. 22. He was convicted of manufacture to deliver marijuana in Lafayette County in 2010.

He is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class I felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than seven years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.

• The court Thursday sentenced Kyle J. Wescott, 28, Janesville, to three years probation after he pleaded no contest to failure to pay child support.

Court records indicate he failed to pay child support between Oct. 18 and Dec. 31, 2007.

He was charged with failure to pay child support, a class I felony. He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

Misdemeanors

• The court Thursday entered into an 18-month deferred prosecution agreement for Zachary B. Elsner, 23, Brodhead, who pleaded no contest to battery.

He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.

Court records indicate he hit a man in the face, fractured several teeth and broke the man's nose July 27 in Juda.

• The court Wednesday entered into a one-year deferred prosecution agreement with Michael R. Fricks, 20, Monroe, who pleaded no contest to battery and two counts of disorderly conduct.

He faced up to 15 months in jail and up to $12,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A and class B misdemeanors.

Court records indicate he hit a woman in the chest and arms June 2 in Clarno township, and he pushed a woman to the ground June 10 in Monroe.

• The court Monday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a Feb. 16 district attorney conference for Joseph A. Stehura, 22, Monroe, who stood mute to bail jumping.

Court records allege he drank alcohol while on bond for second-offense drunken driving Jan. 5 in Monroe.

He is charged with bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.

• The court Monday scheduled an April 20 district attorney conference for Christine A. Dagle, 45, Monroe, who pleaded not guilty to battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege she hit a man in the face Oct. 24 in a Monroe township business.

She is charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. She faces up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

She remains free on a $750 signature bond.

In a second case, she pleaded not guilty to battery and disorderly conduct charges.

Court records allege she hit and argued with a man Dec. 28 at a Monroe residence.

She is charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. She faces up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

She remains free on a $750 signature bond.

Her district attorney conference is April 20.
