A story on the Monroe school district's summer school program published in Thursday's edition incorrectly stated that 40 percent of course offerings in the summer sessions are credit recovery courses for students who didn't pass during the regular school year.

The article should have said 40 percent of classes are core-related course offerings, and some of those are credit recovery classes.

The Times regrets the error.
