Clayton C. "Chuck" Hauser

Clayton C. "Chuck" Hauser, age 74, of Wiota, WI passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by his family. He was born October 22, 1938, in Baraboo, WI to Clayton J. and Betty (Shaw) Hauser. Chuck graduated from Darlington High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Karen Colden on November 11, 1961, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanchardville, WI. Chuck farmed in the Fayette area until 1981, moving to the Wiota area where he farmed and has resided since. He was passionately involved with raising and riding horses. Chuck was a lifelong member of the Darlington Saddle Club and was a past 4-H horse project leader. He was a member of the Argyle FFA Alumni and served on several farm committees. Chuck enjoyed going with Karen to household sales, antiquing, and restoring antiques. His true love was for his family and grandchildren.

Chuck is survived by his wife Karen at home; four sons: Jody (Amanda) Hauser of Plover, WI, Tim (Annette) Hauser of Woodford, WI, Terry Hauser of McFarland, WI, and Greg Hauser of Wiota, WI; two grandchildren: Taylor and Lexie Hauser; five step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert "Bob" (Barb) Hauser of Browntown, WI; three sisters: Pat (Walter) Ward of San Antonio, TX, Judi Hauser of Muskego, WI, and Doris Boyle of Gratiot, WI; several nieces and nephews who were very special to him, as well as many friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law: Garfield and Lu Colden; one brother: Richard Hauser; and Taylor's mother: Tammy Lindsey.

Chuck was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church in Wiota, WI (6682 State Road 78, South Wayne, WI 53587) with Rev. Luke Smetters officiating. Burial will be at East Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, WI is serving the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
