JANESVILLE - Claryce Gavigan, age 84, of Pewaukee, and formerly of Janesville, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at home. She was born in Cyril, OK on July 13, 1927, the daughter of Clarence and Donna (Cook) Reeves. She married Jerome Gavigan in Oklahoma City, OK on Sept. 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1986. Claryce had had been a Janesville resident for 60 years moving here from Ardmore, OK, and had been employed by General Motors. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church and the Rock County Historical Society.
She is survived by her son, Timothy C. (Anne) Gavigan of Waukesha; 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann (Bruce) Stapleton and Kelly Colleen (Jeff) Gavigan-Swanson; 3 great-grandchildren: Brian Stapleton, Grace and Emily Swanson; sister-in-law, Helen Field; other family and friends in Wisconsin and Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. John Auby officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Private Family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.
