FELONIES

• The court on Sept. 9 sentenced Christine L. Welchel, 38, New Glarus, to three years probation and ordered her to pay $3,050 in restitution after she pleaded no contest to forgery.

She faced up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 for the class H felony. Court records indicate she wrote 24 checks from two people's accounts between Jan 8 and March 2 in New Glarus.

• The court on Sept. 9 scheduled a Nov. 3 district attorney conference for Joel A. Hale, 36, Browntown, who is charged with drunken driving and driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration.

Court records allege he was driving while drunk April 30 in Monroe. He was convicted of battery in 2007 and disorderly conduct in 2008.

He is charged with drunken driving and driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration, fifth- or sixth-offense, both as a repeat offender. He faces up to 16 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $3,000 signature bond.

• The court on Sept. 9 scheduled a Nov. 17 district attorney conference for Adam W. Tracy, 18, Orfordville, who pleaded not guilty to substantial battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he hit a man and broke his jaw May 6 in Decatur township.

He is charged with substantial battery, a class I felony, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces more than three years in prison and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $3,000 signature bond.
