FELONIES

• Brandy Leann Hernandez, 36, and Victor Alexander McDonald, 20, both of Brodhead, were charged Sept. 9 with felony charges of intimidating a victim, false imprisonment, strangulation and substantial battery and misdemeanor charges of battery and disorderly conduct. Both were charged after an incident at a Brodhead residence on Sept. 6, when the duo allegedly attacked a man in his bed. The attack caused significant bruising to the victim's face and a laceration above his eye. Hernandez and McDonald will appear in court for their preliminary hearings Oct. 11.

• Clyde Lee Leverton, 45, Browntown, was charged Thursday with a felony count of strangulation and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident on Sept. 12 when a woman accused him of putting her in a stranglehold for seemingly no reason. After doing so, the victim said Leverton then struck two young children, also briefly choking one. When questioned, both Leverton and his wife denied that Leverton touched the victim. They did not confirm whether Leverton had struck the children. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28.
