Green County Misdemeanors
Justin David Halvorson, 26, Brodhead, was sentenced Wednesday to 24 months of probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possessing an illegally obtained prescription and a Class A misdemeanor charge of bail jumping. The charges stem from a July 17 incident when Halvorson called police officers claiming trucks were circling his residence and people were trying to kill him. Illegal pills were found in his possession and he signed a $1,000 bond with conditions that he not possess or consume any controlled substances. Halvorson was picked up in August on an unrelated warrant and illegal pills were found on his person again, violating the terms of his bond.
Peter J. Bonlie, 59, Albany, was sentenced Friday to five days in jail and fined $443 after pleading no contest to a Class A misdemeanor count of bail jumping and a Class B misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an Aug. 14 incident when Bonlie, visibly intoxicated in the W500 block of County F, Town of Decatur, allegedly became hostile toward an apprehending officer, adopting a "fighting stance" and forcing the officer to subdue him with a Taser. After signing a $1,000 signature bond with the condition that he not consume or possess any intoxicants, Bonlie was apprehended on Oct. 3 in the 500 block of West 21st Street, Monroe, after being seen visibly intoxicated and rowdy. Another charge of bail jumping from a Sept. 24 incident was dismissed.
