The court Oct. 14 sentenced Julie A. Ruthven, 42, Monticello, to six months in jail and three years probation after she pleaded no contest to drunken driving, fifth-offense or greater.
She faced up to six years in prison as part of the plea agreement for the class H felony.
Court records indicate she was arrested for drunken driving Sept. 13 in Mount Pleasant township.
The court Oct. 13 sentenced Brad A. Becker, 23, Monroe, to five months in jail and three years probation after he pleaded no contest to strangulation and suffocation.
He faced up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class h felony.
Court records indicate he choked a woman July 26 at a Monroe residence.

He faced more than three years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines for the class I felony and unclassified misdemeanor.
The court dismissed two counts of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, both class I felonies, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a class E felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He originally faced more than 25 years in prison and more than $55,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he had 12 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe in his possession May 1 in Monroe.
