Misdemeanors

• Brittany Jo Collins, 28, incarcerated at the Dane County Jail, was sentenced to 20 days in jail on Nov. 10 for revoking her probation on a misdemeanor conviction of retail theft from 2015, in which she shoplifted eye liner from Tropical Exposure Spa, 804 25th Street, Brodhead. While in the store, she also rummaged through an employee's purse and took a debit card. A report from her probation agent indicates Collins failed to pay court fines, drove a vehicle without a valid license, ingested medications not prescribed to her and assisted in the sale of prescription medications. She was also terminated from a residential addiction treatment facility in Madison for using opiate pain pills and benzodiazepines. The agent wrote that Collins was "going through the motions" and "would not acknowledge she had a drug problem or she needed treatment," concluding, "Ms. Collins has struggled with supervision from the onset. She regularly engaged in non-compliant behavior ... She puts everyone at risk in the community when she is using drugs and/or driving without a license by way of her lifestyle."
