Misdemeanors
♦ Lisa M. Vesperman, 54, Belleville, entered a one-year deferred prosecution agreement Jan. 10 on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from an argument and fight between Vesperman and her daughter Aug. 16 on Fonda Lane, Town of Exeter. Conditions of the agreement include assessments for mental health and alcohol/drug abuse and following through with recommended treatment and counseling. If Vesperman complies with conditions, the case will be fully dismissed.
♦ Bradley Allen Miller, 28, Monroe, pleaded no contest Jan. 10 to a forfeiture charge of disorderly conduct, downgraded from a misdemeanor, and was fined $330.50. A charge of battery was dismissed. The case stems from an altercation June 29 at an apartment on 10th Street in Monroe in which Miller reportedly pushed and was verbally abusive toward a woman. In a victim-impact statement to the court, however, the woman wrote that she did not want charges pressed and that it was simply "a fight that escalated" and had "never happened before." She added that the incident "did NOT in any way affect me and my family" and she didn't believe any charges should have come of it.
♦ Raymond Lee Anderson, 52, Janesville, pleaded no contest Feb. 8 to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and battery, with charges of driving with a revoked license and taking and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent dismissed. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail, with Huber work-release privileges as long as he stays alcohol- and controlled substance-free. The case stems from a domestic dispute Aug. 19 in the W700 block of Ten Eyck Road, Town of Decatur. Court records indicate Anderson threw a woman to the ground and grabbed her forcefully, then took her car. In a statement to the court, she blamed the incident on Anderson's drinking and wrote that she just wanted to see him get help, like counseling for alcohol abuse: "Raymond has been trying to get his life together. ... Just give him the chance."
♦ Connor John Brauer, 19, Monroe, pleaded no contest Feb. 9 to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, stemming from a domestic dispute Oct. 19 with a woman at his home, and was granted a one-year deferred prosecution with conditions that he take anger management classes and attend quarterly monitoring conferences. If he complies with the conditions, the conviction will be dismissed.
