FELONIES
- Mitchell R. Haug, 17, Monroe, was charged Monday, June 11, with a Class I felony charge of fleeing/eluding an officer and an unclassified misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. His is summoned for an initial appearance in court on July 9. According to the criminal complaint, Haug led an officer with the Monroe Police Department on a high-speed chase in the early morning hours of May 6, after the officer attempted to stop the vehicle Haug was driving for not displaying license plates. During his arrest at Monroe High School later that week, on May 11, an officer allegedly found in Haug's possession a metal pipe for smoking marijuana.
- A warrant was issued Tuesday, June 12, for the arrest of Derrick A. Schwartzlow, 31, Albany, on a Class H felony charge of strangulation and suffocation and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The criminal complaint, filed the same day, alleges he physically abused and choked a woman on June 2 at a residence in the 300 block of North Mechanic Street in Albany and that this isn't the first time the same woman has suffered physical abuse from him.
MISDEMEANORS
- Jarett J. Simons, 39, Freeport, Ill., was charged Monday, June 11, with Class A misdemeanor charges of theft and resisting or obstructing an officer. He is summoned for an initial appearance in court on July 2. The charges stem from an arrest last month in Monroe. The criminal complaint alleges Simons stole two motors and two batteries on April 29 from Green County Electric, 809 19th St., and then lied to a detective during a May 3 investigation of the incident.
- Grayson K. Privett, 17, Monroe, was charged Monday, June 11, with a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He is summoned for an initial appearance in court on July 2. The criminal complaint alleges Privett stole an Apple Macbook laptop computer from the Monroe Alternative Charter School on May 9 and was abusive and unreasonably violent with his mother and her husband in a residence in the 1600 block of 6th Street on May 20.
