LAFAYETTE COUNTY
FELONIES
Douglas J. Forbes Jr., 23, Platteville, was charged Monday with felony bail jumping and misdemeanor operating while revoked after a June 15 incident in which police saw him driving near the Belmont Village Office, 222 S. Mound Ave., and arrested him. Police noted in their report that they recognized Forbes from past contacts and knew his license was revoked. The bail-jumping charge stems from Forbes allegedly having contact with Breanna Becker, who was riding in his car. Court records indicate Forbes signed a $5,000 signature bond June 8 in a different case that ordered him to have no contact with Becker. The bond conditions were modified July 7 and he is now allowed to contact her, police documents show. He has an initial appearance in the new case July 27.
