The court Wednesday scheduled a July 29 arraignment for Wade H. Gombar, 46, Stoughton, who is charged with theft and forgery.
Court records allege he received about $154,000 from a New Glarus couple to make improvements to their property and kept about $28,000 between Dec. 5, 2005 and Jan. 29, 2006. The court also alleges he forged forms and was able to obtain $7,850 because of the false documents.
He is charged with theft, a class G felony, and two counts of forgery and one count of theft, all class H felonies. He faces up to 28 years in prison and up to $55,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $4,000 signature bond.
The court Wednesday scheduled a plea/sentencing hearing for Robert J. Sanders, 19, Freeport, Ill., who is charged with forgery, contributing to the delinquency of a child and theft.
Court records allege he wrote a check from another person's account and encouraged a 14-year-old to help him Jan. 16 at a Monroe business.
He is charged with forgery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both class H felonies, and attempted theft, a class A misdemeanor. He faces more than 12 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $1,000 signature bond.
The court Wednesday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled an Aug. 5 district attorney conference for Jason M. Dunlap, 24, Orangeville, Ill., who is charged with failure to pay child support.
Court records allege he failed to pay child support for a child born in 2006 between February 2007 and May 2008.
He is charged with two counts of failure to pay child support, both class I felonies. He faces up to seven years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $3,150 signature bond and a $350 cash bond.
In a second case he stood mute Wednesday to charges of possession of marijuana, bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records allege he had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession Dec. 27 in Monroe. Court records also allege he was driving a vehicle while on bond for driving after revocation.
He is charged with possession of marijuana, a class I felony, bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor, all as a repeat offender. He faces more than 13 years in prison and more than $20,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on an $1,800 signature bond and a $200 cash bond.
