Felonies
Billie Jo Ineze Saari, 35, Beloit, and Matthew D. Schupbach, 31, Brodhead, are each charged with two Class I felony counts of retail theft and one Class A misdemeanor count of retail theft. Court records indicate that in July 2013, Saari and Schupbach shoplifted $1,778.87 in goods from the Monroe Super Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W., including three cellphones, two xBox consoles, a tote, three boxes of cologne and an Inspiron laptop. An arrest warrant is issued for Saari. Schupbach has an initial appearance May 5.
Heather Lynn Deana Halverson, 26, Albany, is charged with a Class H felony count of misappropriating ID information to obtain money. Court records indicate that in Nov. 2012 she found a lost debit card and used it to make small purchases at area gas stations and to buy a Rihanna CD and GPS unit at the Monroe Shopko, 405 W. 8th St. Her initial appearance is May 11.
Justin Michael Gillespie, 29, Orfordville, is charged with one Class F felony count of burglary, three Class H felony counts of forgery, one Class H felony count of theft of movable property, two Class A misdemeanor counts of theft by false representation and one Class A misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property. Court records indicate he burglarized a home in the 2100 block of 5th Avenue in Brodhead in July 2014 and cashed fraudulent checks at Sugar River Bank, also in Brodhead, in November 2014. He allegedly broke in through a basement window, causing $262 in damages, and stole gold bullion and coins worth $1,000, silver coins, cash totaling $4,000, a change jar with $8 in it and a safe worth $50. A warrant is issued for his arrest.
Dillon M. Varner, 23, Blanchardville, pleaded not guilty April 28 to a Class I felony count of substantial battery and a Class B misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident April 5 in the driveway of a residence in the 1600 block of 19th Street in Monroe. Court records indicate Varner was intoxicated and got into an argument with a friend. In the course of the argument, he allegedly punched the friend with a closed fist while wearing a large ring. The friend suffered bleeding in his mouth and a fractured tooth that required his upper teeth to be wired together. A pre-trial conference is scheduled June 16.
Misdemeanors
Jaime Lee Bole, 30, Monroe, is charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of absconding without paying rent. Court records indicate he wrote a $1,047 rent check on a closed account for an apartment in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue in Monroe in March 2013, didn't answer subsequent calls from his landlord and left no forwarding address. His initial appearance is May 4.
Trevor Coplien Hahn, 25, Brodhead, is charged with misdemeanor counts of possessing THC and drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a traffic stop by a State Patrol officer on April 17 on County GG north of Wis. 11 in Spring Grove Township. The officer searched the vehicle after smelling the "odor of raw marijuana" and reported finding a digital scale and a used plastic baggie containing 29 grams of marijuana. Hahn's initial appearance is May 19.
Alton Lee Bellows, 32, Monroe, is charged with a misdemeanor count of knowingly violating a domestic-abuse order. Court records indicate that in October he talked directly to a woman and peered in the windows of her Monroe home, in violation of a court order that he have no contact with her. His initial appearance is May 11.
Corie Lee Tschannen, 33, Browntown, pleaded not guilty April 20 to two misdemeanor counts of theft of movable property. Court records indicate he stole electronics from a Browntown residence in Dec. 2013 and tools from the same residence in April 2014. A pre-trial conference is scheduled June 2.
David Lee Webb, 22, Blanchardville, pleaded not guilty April 27 to a Class A misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon. Court records indicate Webb had a sheathed machete with an 18-inch blade concealed under the seat of his Dodge Ram truck during a traffic stop for OWI on March 22. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 2.
Katlyn A. Gilbertson, 19, Monroe, pleaded not guilty April 27 to misdemeanor counts of possessing THC and drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a search of her home in the 300 block of 4th Street in Monroe on April 2. Officers reported finding one gram of marijuana in a jar in a dresser drawer, plus two grinders and three bongs. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 2.
