• Tyler Brookman, 17, Brodhead, remains free on a $2,000 signature bond after making his initial appearance Monday for burglary and criminal damage to property.
Court records allege he entered the former middle school and broke windows and lights and discharged fire extinguishers Aug. 25 in Brodhead.
He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, and criminal damage to property, a class I felony. He faces up to 16 years in prison and up to $35,000 in fines, if convicted.
His preliminary hearing is May 28.
• The court Monday scheduled a June 16 district attorney conference for Steve B. Corder, 18, Datto, Ark., who pleaded not guilty to burglary and criminal damage to property.

Court records indicate he repeatedly hit and yelled at a child Oct. 22 in Monroe.
