Felonies
- Travis Paul Bowles, 24, Monticello, pleaded no contest April 4 to a Class I felony charge of possessing marijuana with intent to deliver, stemming from a seizure of about 165 grams of marijuana May 9 at a home in the 500 block of 21st Street. He is sentenced to two years of probation with the conditions that he complete 300 hours of community service, comply with any substance abuse counseling recommendations and not drink. A misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia and additional Class I felony charges of possessing marijuana and maintaining a drug-trafficking place were dismissed.
- Cody Alan Young, 20, Argyle, was sentenced April 9 on felony burglary convictions stemming from break-ins last summer at Klondike Cheese Factory and the Argyle Rod and Gun Club, both located on Wisconsin 81 between Monroe and Argyle. He is sentenced to 18 months in prison and three and a half years of extended supervision, with conditions that he pay more than $6,000 in restitution and damages, get a job and maintain absolute sobriety. Court records indicate Young and an accomplice, Nicholas D. Siegel, forced their way into the Feta and Muenster buildings at Klondike and stole from employee lockers. The two men are also convicted of breaking in and stealing alcoholic beverages, change and other items from the gun club. Siegel was sentenced last October.
Misdemeanors
- Lonnie V. Kelley, 42, New Glarus, pleaded no contest April 9 to a misdemeanor third-offense charge of driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 28 days in jail and two years of probation, with the conditions that he undergo alcohol or drug counseling and not drink or enter taverns or liquor stores. A misdemeanor charge of possessing 1.5 grams of marijuana was dismissed. The charges stem from a traffic stop Sept. 22 on 13th Street near 28th Avenue in Monroe. A breathalyzer test at the scene showed Kelley was driving with a 0.254 percent blood-alcohol level, more than three times the legal limit. He owes the court $2,115, and his license is revoked 30 months.
- Robert Lee Prinkey, Jr., 41, Brodhead, was charged April 9 with Class B misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and unlawful phone use, stemming from incidents the day before in Brodhead. Court records allege he yelled and swore at a woman and physically charged toward her at a residence in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. He's also accused of making an abusive and threatening phone call to a second woman the same day.
