Carol D. Koch, age 83 of Monticello, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 19, 1932 in rural Green County, the daughter of George and Frances (Stubbe) Ellefson. She attended a rural School. Carol married Elwood R. Koch on May 7, 1950 in Monroe. Carol farmed with her husband on the family farm her entire life. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and knitting, flowers and gardening, and jig-saw puzzles. Carol loved to cook, and one of her biggest joys was cooking for family.

She is survived by her son, Michael Koch of Monticello, daughters, Margaret (Fred) Beckman and Susan Martinez, both of Monroe; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. 2 brothers: Robert and Gerald (Ella) Ellefson both of Monroe; 3 sisters: Viola Fox of Browntown, Vera Block of Monroe, and Lyla (Herbert) Krause of Monroe., She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elwood; son, in infancy, Duane; a grandson, Jeffery Koch; sister, Helen Indergand; brothers, Ralph and Gene Ellefson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 4, 2016 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will be in Saucerman cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Carol's name to the FFA.
