Bruce Theodore Tollakson, 64, formerly of Argyle, Wis., passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at Atrium Care of Mineral Point, Wis. He was born Feb. 19, 1953 in Monroe, Wis., the son of Alfred and Florence (Linder) Tollakson. Bruce graduated from Argyle High School and also attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, majoring in the Visual Arts. He later returned home to Argyle where he worked with his family at Tollakson Memorials until his disabilities became too much for him.
Bruce is survived by three brothers: Neale (Vicki) Tollakson of Argyle, Mark (Barbara) Tollakson of rural Argyle, and Alan (Deirdre) Tollakson of Emporia, KS; nieces and nephews Erik, Zach, Ben, Anya, and Ellie Tollakson, and Gwen (Dan) Tucker; and great nieces and nephews Dominic, Veronica and Phoenix Tollakson, and Paige and Mia Tucker. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred on April 1, 1988; and his mother, Florence Jan. 8, 2011.
Bruce had an artistic soul, and since childhood was highly gifted in painting, drawing and sculpting. He was also an avid reader, music lover, arrowhead hunter and American history buff. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
An exhibit of Bruce's favorite artworks will be on display at a Celebration of Life at Yellowstone Golf Course, rural Blanchardville, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017. A family gathering and interment will be held at East Wiota Church at 1 p.m.
