Boyd N. Elliott, 83, Freeport, Illinois was ushered into heaven through the saving grace of Jesus on November 3, 2011.

He was born in Oakland, Iowa on January 8, 1928 to Henry and Grace Elliott. He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1945. Boyd served in the Philippines with the United States Army from 1945 -1947. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1950. He married Dollie Netcott on August 27, 1950 in Ames, Iowa.

Boyd managed the Spurgeon's store in Monroe, WI from 1962 - 1976. He then managed the Freeport Spurgeon's store until his retirement in 1990. After his retirement he became a licensed realtor associate with Krogull Mercier Realtors.

Boyd became a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in 1976. He was a member of the Freeport Noon Kiwanis and the Downtown Business Men's Association.

Boyd was an avid reader, enjoyed golf, and was a loyal Packers fan. His greatest joy in life was his family.

Boyd is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dollie Elliott; three children: Pastor Larry (Carol) Elliott, Freeport, IL; Elaine Blue, Monroe, WI; Shelly (Steve) Larson, Ames, IA; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lois Dorsheimer, Lewis, IA and Elaine Crawford, Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Grace Elliott; sister and brother-in-law Ione and Glen Anderson, two brothers-in-law: Reid Crawford and Corky Dorsheimer; and one brother, Melvin Elliott in infancy.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, 2525 W. Stephenson St., Freeport, IL followed by entombment at Oakland Cemetery. It is Pastor Larry Elliott's honor to officiate the service for his dad.

Visitation will be held at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
