Bonnie L. Fuchs, age 70 of Monroe, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 17, 2015 after being diagnosed with cancer in November. Bonnie was born on August 17, 1945 in Monroe, the daughter of Virgil August and Lois Elaine (Matzke) Rupnow. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1963. Bonnie married George C. Fuchs on September 30, 1967 in Dubuque, Iowa. Following her marriage, Bonnie worked at Dorman's Cheese and the Monroe Post Office. She was part-owner of Fox Mobile Homes for many years. Bonnie's love of nature was evident in her avid interest in bird watching, her work with the Peony Society, and as an Herbalist. Her passion for creating miniature dollhouses was one of the many ways she expressed her artistic talents. One of the highlights for her was being asked to join the miniature White House replica display team that traveled throughout the country. Through crocheting and hand quilting she was able to provide many gifts made with love to those she treasured. Her joy of life was expressed through her ability to bring laughter and fun to everyday events. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Dean C. (Janet) Fuchs of New Glarus, Heidi J. (Robert) Helmeke of Ham Lake, MN, and Anthony G. (Jamie) Fuchs of Monticello; six grandchildren and several step grandchildren; her siblings, Dale (Judy) Rupnow of South Wayne, Julie (Fred) Zurfluh of Albany, and Tom Rupnow (Jo Ellen Roche) of Clarno. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, George, on November 25, 1997.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev.
