Betty J. Grinnell, age 74, of Monroe, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at New Glarus Home. She was born on August 9, 1939 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jake and Irma (Lintner) Vicker.

Betty and Nathan Grinnell were married on August 22, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa.

Betty was employed at Disch Furniture, owned and operated Happy Hour Saddle Shop for 20+ years, and after retiring was employed with Christines Tax Service.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed flower gardens and sewing.

She is survived by sons, Gene (Rita) Grinnell of Monroe, Jim (Mary) Grinnell of Monroe; daughter, Betty (Pat) Metz of Orangeville; grandchildren: Curtis and Paul Metz, Erik, Garrett, Megan, and Jacob Grinnell; and great-grandchildren, Damian and Dylan Metz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor John Tabaka officiating.

Burial will follow at Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
