Betty I. Naef, age 84, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Clare Friedensheim. She was born on September 4, 1932 in Monroe, the daughter of Homer and Esther (Phillips) Wardlow.

Betty and William Naef Jr. were united in marriage on September 4, 1951, at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Betty was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #599 and the Monroe Bowling Association.

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Randy (Marilyn) Naef of Monroe, Linda (Steven) Wells of Monroe, Brenda (Steve) Bruce of Burlington; sisters, Ruth (Larry) Rufer and Doris Utt; brother, James Wardlow; sisters-in-law, Helen Wardlow and Rose Qualley; brother-in-law, Roy (Alice) Naef; 8 grandchildren: Kendra (Tom) Scherg, Mindy (Brandon) Berrey, Jeremy (Dawn) Wells, Anthony (Adrienne) Wells, Holly (Mica) Weber, Brady and Brock Carlson and Boden Bruce; great-grandchildren: Kahlan, Jakob, William, Cole, Alexis, Van, Jaxson, Emerson, and another expected in April.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sons, John and Ricky; siblings, Marjorie Gieck, Shirley Bernet, Victor and Mike Wardlow.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME in Monroe, with Pastor David Busker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service at the funeral home.
