Betty Ann Everson, age 82 of Brodhead, died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 20, 1930 in Janesville, the daughter of Marvin and Pauliene (Hyatt) Stabler. She graduated from Brodhead High School in 1947. Betty married Lyle Condon on January 15, 1949; she later married Bud Everson on November 1, 1958 in Rockford, Il. Betty was very active with the family businesses: Everson ambulance, floor covering and the funeral home, retiring at age 70.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she served on many committees, and Pythian Sisters, where she served as Grandchief for the State in 1980-1981. She loved to work in her flower gardens, and spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by 7 children: Jeff (Kit Jernegan) Condon, Glenn (Kathleen) Condon, Randy Condon, Kent Condon, Brett (Vickie) Condon, Ann (Barry Brown) Everson, and Tallie (Jackie) Everson; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Hafen, and a brother, Jerry (Donna) Stabler; nieces, nephews, and her furry four legged friends, Buddy and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Andy Everson; a grandson, Justin Condon, and a brother-in-law, Harold Hafen.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead, with Reverend Peder Johanson and Reverend Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in West Luther Valley Cemetery, Brodhead. A visitation will be held Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead. Memorials may be given in Betty's name to either the Everson Memorial Scholarship or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
