Berneice C. Cleaveland, age 85, of Monroe, formerly of Albany, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1929 in Argyle, Wisconsin the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Olson) Erickson and graduated from Argyle High School in 1947.
Berneice and Charles E. Cleaveland were married on January 21, 1950 at the Adams Lutheran Church Chapel in Argyle.
Berneice and her husband, Charles lived in Albany since the late 1950s. Berneice worked at the Albany Manufacturing Company for 20 years and Ogden's Manufacturing Company for 20 years until she retired.
She was a member of Adam's Lutheran Church in Argyle, Albany American Legion Auxiliary and actively participated in the Boy Scouts with her husband Charles for many years.
She is survived by her children: Dennis (LaVonne) Cleaveland of Monroe; Steven Cleaveland of Evansville; Richard (Laura) Cleaveland of Juda; Nancy Caraway of Evansville; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Charles, May 27, 1988; brother, Eldridge Erickson, 1999; great-grandchild, MiKayla, 1992; sisters-in-law, Juenne Cleaveland, Bertha Cleaveland; brothers-in-law, Lee Cleaveland and Elmer Cleaveland.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany. A visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
A memorial fund is being established in Berneice's memory.
