Berneice B. Sulzer, 82, of Monroe, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born September 13, 1928 in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Myrtle (Nenneman) Bahe.

Berneice married Werner A. Sulzer April 21, 1948 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose Chapter 599 in Monroe, and was a Homemaker and Avon Representative for over 20 years.

Surviving are her children, David W. Sulzer, Monroe, Dan (Marilyn) Sulzer, Dubuque, IA, Joy L. Lawry, Oregon, WI, and Thomas J. Sulzer of Yonkers, NY; grandchildren, Emily Carman & husband Aaron, Tera Carman & husband Aaron, Bryan (Suzanne) Sulzer, Mark (Kara) Sulzer, Shaun (Hilary) Lawry, and Michael Lawry; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Bahe, Monroe. She is predeceased by her parents and brother, Burnett Bahe.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Berneice's memory. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.shriner111.com.
