Bernard E. Gleason, age 86, of Shullsburg, WI, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born February 14, 1927, in Shullsburg the son of Bernard and Mary (Miller) Gleason. Bernard attended Brian School #9 in Seymour Township. He lived in the Shullsburg area all of his life. Bernard farmed on the family farm until his retirement in 1990, when he moved into the Silver Lane Housing of Lafayette County in the City of Shullsburg, and later moved to Darlington.

Bernard is survived by three brothers: Joe (Marietta) Gleason, John Gleason, and Mike (Darline) Gleason all of rural Shullsburg; three sisters: Catherine Weiskircher and Donna Wiederholt both of Platteville, and Betty Gratz of Darlington; one brother-in-law: Paul Prine of Darlington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy; two sisters: Rosemary Prine and Adeline Graham; one sister-in-law: Judy Gleason; four brothers-in-law: Louis Graham, Ambrose Weiskircher, Herb Wiederholt, and Joel Gratz; three nephews: Dan Gleason, Tom Gleason, and Steve Weiskircher; and one niece: Sandra Gleason.

Bernard was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg and Knights of Columbus #1501 of Shullsburg for 50 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 344 North Judgement Street in Shullsburg with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery in rural Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, where a prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. The O'Flahrity-Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
