Ardell N. Jackson, age 78 of Monroe, WI formerly of Argyle, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe. He was born March 14, 1939 in Blanchardville, WI the son of Norman and Ethel (Alfred) Jackson. Ardell graduated from Argyle High School. He was united in marriage to his first wife Sarah Walker in June of 1961, from that union they had three children. After the death of his first wife, Ardell remarried to Judy Crook in 1984 and preceded him in death in 1992. Ardell remarried for the third time to his current wife Mary Jo Welsh on February 14, 1997 in Monroe, WI. Ardell was raised and grew up in the Wiota area. He farmed in Argyle until 1983 when he moved to Monroe where he began working at Swiss Colony, Dominos, and Iroquois Foundry until his retirement in 2002.
Ardell is survived by his wife Mary Jo at home; his children: Keith Jackson of Monroe and Laurie (Rick) Ploessl of Argyle; step-children: Pat (Michelle) Welsh, Jackie (Ron) Leuty, Tom (Monica) Crook, Dan (Shelly) Crook, Troy Crook, and Michelle (Donnie) Huseman; 6 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Almay (Robert) Nelson of Prairie Du Sac, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Sarah in 1981; his second wife Judy in 1992; one son: Mark Jackson on October 28, 1978; and one granddaughter: Lindsey Ploessl in 1995.
Ardell was a member of the Argyle Lions Club where he was a former chapter president. He joined the United States Army and took part in the Korean War. Ardell enjoyed farming and working around the house and in the yard. He was a dedicated sports fan and enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories that they will all remember forever.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Argyle Lutheran Church (100 East Street, Argyle) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 Milwaukee Street, Argyle) and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
