Amy M. Krupke, age 95, formerly South Wayne, Wisconsin area, died on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Rhinelander. She was born on March 28, 1913 in Woodford, the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Gilberts) Sandley. She was a 1931 graduate of Monroe High School and a 1932 graduate of Green County Teachers College. Amy and Glenn Krupke were married on March 10, 1934 in Rockford, Illinois. Amy was a rural school teacher and farmed with her husband in the South Wayne area. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, the Peace Church Ladies Guild, a former member of the South Wayne Homemakers and of the South Wayne Woman's Club.
Surviving is her daughter, Judith (Buddy) Martin of Rhinelander; sister, Ila (Harlow) Duerst of Monroe; grandchildren, Christine Novacheck, Cathleen (Jon) Danner, Julie (Dennis) Martin all of Rhinelander, Craig (Therese) Martin of Germantown, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Brooke Novacheck, Blythe Novacheck both of Middleton, Andrew Novacheck of River Falls, Brittni Amy Danner of Madison, Demi Danner of Rhinelander, Meghan Martin, Glenn Martin and Jack Martin all of Germantown, Tennessee. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Glenn; daughter, Avis Krupke; brother, Russell Sandley and sister Adeline Drews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Sowersby, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. all at the Church. The Hanson Funeral Home, South Wayne is serving the family.
Amy was first and foremost a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a loving and patient mother to a special needs daughter, Avis. Amy spent 58 years living on the farm, 42 of them working next to her husband, Glenn. She often enjoyed playing a competitive game of cards, especially euchre. She was a avid reader and worker of many crossword puzzles. Amy will always be loved and cherished dearly by her family and friends.
