Aaron G. Smith, age 41 of New Glarus, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 25, 1975 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Gary and Deborah (Ganshert) Smith. He graduated from Holy Name Seminary High School in Madison, and he graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, with a B.A. in Acconting. Aaron married Sarah Diny on November 16, 2002 in Greenleaf, Wisconsin. He worked in the Accounting and Technical Services department for Epic Systems in Verona. He was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church, where he was involved in many activities; he enjoyed reading, golfing, and watching professional sports.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah and their 3 children: Annabelle, Elizabeth, and Eli, all of New Glarus; parents, Gary and Deborah Smith of Shullsburg, WI; a sister, Stephanie (Bill) Fecht of Bowling Green, OH.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Monsignor Larry Bakke as celebrant. A visitation will be Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service. Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
